We became aware of alpacas from a television ad, and started researching these wonderful animals on the internet.
We then visited a few ranches in our area and talked with breeders. There is so much to learn! We fell in love with the alpacas and the vision of "life on the ranch".
We realized that we could have a more rural lifestyle and a business that would allow us to retire sooner than we originally thought.
It soon became clear that we wanted to own some property and start a small ranch.
When we found a small farm house on acerage that had been run as a Bed and Breakfast and Wedding Site, we knew we had our home. We immediately fenced pastures, built sheds and brought our alpacas home.
We now own 39 huacaya and 8 suri alpacas (plus 3 Grand Pyrenees/Anatollian mix herd guard dogs and 2 Guard Llamas) with more on the way. Plus, we board about 15 more for other owners.
